Early morning chatter

Up at 7 this morning... Everybody else still asleep. Enjoyed my breakfast while reading Martha's blog that she posted about our trip to Versailles yesterday. Martha is doing such a wonderful job, as usual, being our tour director. After spending so much time traveling in Europe these past years, especially in Paris, it only takes her a few days and its like she has always lived here. Maps in hand it always off we go in search of our destination for the day. It is so nice for me as I just follow Martha, Bonnie and Jane wherever they led me....my job is to watch where I walk hanging on to all stair railings being carful not to fall. This was especially true on Saturday during the rain. I have found that I must detour around all the metal grates on the sidewalks. I have to stop and look up to appreciate the street views as I always walk with my head down. All of this was especially true on Saturday night when we went up the Eiffel Tower, in the rain. The whole thing is built of slick metal grates. I felt like I was ice skating as I rarely lifted my feet off the ground and made my way by sliding my feet along hanging on to one of the girls at all times. But oh what a thrill to be up at the very top.. Another first for me
