Treasures in Southern France

Today I am nearing the end of a book by Yvone Lenard in which she spins a wonderful story about the time that she and her husband restored an old ruined home in a hilltop town in Provence.

What wonderful memories this book has brought back to me of the nine days in March that I spent touring Provence with my twin, Martha. To begin with, yes her hilltop town is the same one where we drove our little rental car up and down the narrow twisting streets trying to find a parking space... until we had driven ourselves into an impossible to back out of street with the traffic stopping "green pole" set square in the middle of the only way out....for the end of this story see our blogs for March 20th..... yes, my way of getting you to review my "older posts".. in fact
am sure that you would enjoy reading all the stories about our stay in Provence.

In the book called "The Magic of Provence" Yvone visits so many of the places that we saw on our visit such as L'Isle Sur La Sorgue, the beautiful town that we called home during our stay. Her experiences at the Sunday Market mirrored our own.

Mount Vontoux was featured in several chapters along with the villages of Gordes, Lacoste (famous for the Marquis de Sade),Lourmarin, Orange with its Roman Theatre where during a performance of Aida they experienced the biting winds of a Mistral
storm.....such memories of a wonderful trip she brought to mind. Along with, I might add, many recipes detailing French meals for those who desire to taste the wonderful foods of France.

So... take time this summer to read this wonderful book and do go back to read again the tales, trials and tribulations of the Traveling Twins during their three month journey. I promise you will find all of these good summer reading.
