Today we are having a rest day…. Which is good because it rained last night and is doing sprinkles this morning. We slept in (Martha slept, I just laid in bed after 2 of our room mates left at 6:30 AM for a snow board trip in the mountains) until 9 before we went downstairs for breakfast. We did venture out this morning with our rain ponchos and very carefully walked to the Cathedral hoping to be able to go in with our prayer books and read the Sunday Mass as early tomorrow we will be on the bus back to Madrid. No luck as the Cathedral would not be open till later, but remembered a small church not to far from our Hostel so walked to it and read our Sunday prayers.
Now Martha is busy checking the internet to find us a Saturday night Mass… she thinks there is one at 7 in the Cathedral so I said we would go, if it’s not raining. We plan to cook ourselves a big lunch, with leftovers for dinner tonight, with the groceries We purchased while out walking last night. Eggs, Ham & Cheese sure sounds good to me.
Last night we enjoyed a late nite dinner with a large group here at the Hostel. They cooked everything together in this huge (size of a tire) wok and severed it with a wonderful salad. It was rice, lots of vegetables and seafood. My problem was that dinner is not served until 9 PM, which is pretty late for me. But was fun to share conversations with all the young people. Lots of American’s here on holiday from Schools. Everyone in our room last night is from the USA. At least because of the early risers today we all got to bed before midnight.
Am going to post this now and may not post again until after we get back to Madrid.
