Traveling to Dallas

Sitting on the plane to Dallas, I find that I’m writing my blog in my head so decided to get a head start on my computer now.

By 10:30 AM we had our 6 bags on the driveway waiting for good friends Don & Jane Conn to give us a ride to the Tampa airport. A very smooth trip over the Skyway bridge,no traffic snarls to deal with was good.

Don was so kind to help us into the terminal with our bags & Jane had remembered to bring a camera, mine was safety locked away in my carryon bags, to get a picture of us. First issue was upon check in at American Airlines was that they wanted to see paper work that proved that we did had indeed registered for our Australian Visa’s. Thank heavens I quickly found my cruise documents that listed the Visa Numbers.

With our 2 large bags checked she called for our wheelchair transports that we had requested. Don’t think I will ever again travel by air without doing this…. Our 21” wheeled bags fit under the chairs and we held our personal bags on our laps. Off we went to security both chairs being handled by one great gal. Easy trip thru screening as our transport person handled our bags and stayed with our things the whole time.

She even stopped by a store so we could purchase bottles of water to have on the plane..Yes, as we had a couple of hours to wait for our plane, she parked us up by the gate but was back in time to wheel us down to the plane and came on to lift our bags into the overhead compartment. While waiting for our departure, we each took a turn walking to the bathroom, which were not far away. We have found a benefit from being older.

Now on the plane, which was one hour late getting in the air because of planes ahead of us being delayed in takeoff by a storm that happened while we were waiting, and on our way to Dallas. Because of the delay we are glad that we have several hours between planes in Dallas.

Have arrived in Sydney but having trouble with the wi fi at the hostel… So have found The nearest McDonalds and am now on the web Free. But tonight I will type about our
Trip from Dallas to Sydney and post it later tomorrow. As you can see … I thought that I would be able to post from McDonalds but it didn’t work out.

Well more trouble at McDonalds but here it is Tuesday late afternoon and a young gentleman just got my computer on the internet. So will post this and later write all about our flight from Dallas and our two days in Sydney.
