The Ideal Travel Partner Is:

Have just finished reading the book "Traveler's Tool Kit" and would like to share a portion of the book with you:

"If you've decided to travel solo, that's the end of that. But if you prefer a partner, think very carefully about what kind of person you want. Finding the ideal travel partner is easier than finding the source of the Nile or safe passage around Cape Horn -- but not much. The prize is definitely worth the effort and it's a lot easier to succeed if you know what you're looking for. "

They list the ideal travel partner as:
1. Someone you like.
2. Someone who visualizes the trip approximately the same as you.
3. Someone who shares your feelings about taking risks.
4. Someone who shares your feelings about the budget.
5. Someone who operates on a similar clock.
6. Someone whose energy level is similar to your own.
7. Someone who doesn't have health problems that would interfere
8. Someone who has a flexible, easygoing personality.
9. Someone who has personal habits compatible with your own.
10. Someone who understands how a partnership works.
11. Someone who recognizes the need for "quiet time".
12. Someone who feels the same way you do about intimacy.
13. Someone who is willing to communicate and solve problems.
14. Someone you really like!.... Nothing is more important.

In all these things I feel like my Twin Martha and I fit very well and I think that I have chosen the best possible Travel Partner for myself and am really looking forward to our trip. Martha has already made all our reservation ... which was not an easy task as during our 89 days we will be staying at 30 different Hotel and Hostels, using a rental car for 3 different portions of our trip, 6 trips on the bus and 9 trips on trains which all equals out to a lot of planning. She has even made us each a small notebook with all reseveration information and a page for each day of our trip to record our experiences. I told her that she really missed her calling as she would have made a great tour guide.
